MONROE — LSU’s Blake Caldwell fired an even-par 72 on Saturday to maintain the lead in the third round of the Louisiana Golf Association Amateur Championship at Bayou DeSiard Country Club.

Caldwell, a rising sophomore from Ponchatoula, is 8-under par (208) for the championship.

Defending champion Grady Brame Jr. of Hammond gained two strokes on Caldwell in Saturday’s third round after he posted a 2-under par 70. Brame Jr. is one stroke back of the leader heading into Sunday’s final round.
