The wait will soon be over to see where Louisiana's top 2017 running back will land, and he'll likely join a Tigers squad, regardless.

Travis Etienne, a four-star recruit from Jennings, tweeted on Tuesday that he'll be announcing his college choice at 5 p.m. on Thursday.

Etienne, a one-time Texas A&M commitment, has now narrowed his choices to LSU, reigning national champion Clemson, and Tennessee, according to 247sports. Thursday's decision will likely be between Clemson and LSU.

Etienne is the No. 8 overall recruit in Louisiana, and the No. 16-rated running back nationally, according to 247sports' rankings.

Etienne was a member of the contingent that visited LSU during a large-scale recruiting weekend earlier this month. Reports from Monday indicated that Ed Orgeron and others visited personally with Etienne last week.

It was not immediately clear how Etienne would be announcing his decision.
