HOOVER, Ala. – LSU and Auburn are in a weather delay until 6 p.m.
The two teams were scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Southeastern Conference tournament, but a line of thunderstorms was expected to sweep through the Birmingham area.
No. 1 seed LSU (46-9) and No. 9 seed Auburn (35-22) are playing for a spot in Thursday night’s winner bracket final at the 12-team, double-elimination event at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium.
Auburn beat Kentucky in Tuesday’s single-elimination game to win a spot against the surging, top-ranked Tigers, who received a bye to Wednesday’s round.
The winner of LSU-Auburn meets the winner of Wednesday night’s game between No. 5 seed Arkansas and 4 seed Florida. No. 3 seed Texas A&M and 2 seed Vanderbilt meet at 4:30 p.m. in the first winner bracket final.
