Now that LSU's baseball team has wrapped up fall practices, plenty is likely to change before Feb. 16, when LSU opens up its season at home against Notre Dame.

It happens every year: Story lines that dominate the fall practice circuit inevitably fade once the real games start.

But LSU coach Paul Mainieri does have a better grasp on the team now than when it reported for its first full fall practice five weeks ago. Here are five things that stood out this fall as the Tigers learned more about their 2018 club.
