RECREATIONAL FISHING

STATE/FEDERAL RED SNAPPER SEASON: Closed in state & federal waters.

OPEN seasons: Greater amberjack (30-inch fork length minimum), gray triggerfish (14-inch fork length minimum, 2 per day) & red grouper (20-inch total length minimum, 4-per-day) open in state and federal waters. Recreational non-sandbar large coastal sharks in state waters through 12:01 a.m. April 1.

CLOSED seasons: Gag grouper closure through July 1, 2015; federal managers announced closed season on gray triggerfish will begin at 12:01 a.m. Feb. 7.

FALL INSHORE SHRIMP SEASON: Closed in most state inshore and offshore waters. See Department of Wildlife and Fisheries website (www.wlf.louisiana.gov/fishing/shrimp-seasons) for remaining open waters.
