FISHING

OPEN SEASONS: Recreational red snapper in state water out to nine miles; recreational greater amberjack, gray triggerfish & red grouper seasons until further notice. Notes: Greater amberjack minimum-size limit increased to 34 inches (fork length) & red grouper closure Feb. 1-March 31 in waters deeper than 20 fathoms.

SHRIMPING

FALL INSHORE SHRIMP SEASON: Closed in state inside waters from the Louisiana-Mississippi line west to the Louisiana-Texas line, except that waters east of the Mississippi River in Lake Pontchartrain, Chef Menteur and Rigolets passes, Lake Borgne, Mississippi Sound, the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet and the open waters of Breton and Chandeleur sounds will remain open until further notice.
