GEESE/CONSERVATION ORDER/COASTAL & WEST ZONES: Dec. 15-19. Take limited to blue, snow & Ross’ geese. Hours extended to one-half hour after sunset. Electronic calls, unplugged shotguns allowed. No daily nor possession limits.

WOODCOCK: Dec. 18-Jan. 31, statewide.

DUCKS/WEst ZONE: Dec. 20-Jan. 18, second split.

DUCKS/COASTAL ZONE: Dec. 20-Jan. 25, second split.

FISHERIES NOTICES

STATE RECREATIONAL RED SNAPPER SEASON: Open in state waters. Daily limit 2 red snapper, 16 inches minimum length. Anglers required to have fee-free Louisiana Recreational Offshore Landing Permit. Website: www.rolp.wlf.la.gov.

FEDERAL RECREATIONAL Red Snapper Season: Closed in federal waters throughout the Gulf of Mexico.

RECREATIONAL FISHING CLOSURES: Federal & state waters, greater amberjack & gray triggerfish seasons closed for remainder of 2014. Gag grouper closure through July 1, 2015.

Fall INSHORE SHRIMP SEASON: Opened statewide until further notice.

COMMERCIAL KING MACKERAL CLOSURE: Closed in state & federal waters.

COMMERCIAL NON-SANDBAR LARGE COASTAL SHARKS OPENS: 12:01 a.m., Jan. 1, 2015. Recreational & commercial seasons for all sharks in Louisiana waters will close from 12:01 a.m. April 1, 2015 until 12:01 p.m. July 1, 2015. Commercial take for small coastal sharks in state waters opens Jan. 1 and will remain open until 80 percent of the federal quota has been met.
