FISHING

FALL INSHORE SHRIMP SEASON: Closed effective sunset Monday, Dec. 21 in state inside waters from the Louisiana-Mississippi line west to the Louisiana-Texas line, except that waters east of the Mississippi River in Lake Pontchartrain, Chef Menteur and Rigolets passes, Lake Borgne, Mississippi Sound, the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet and the open waters of Breton and Chandeleur sounds will remain open until further notice.

RECREATIONAL RED SNAPPER: Open in state waters until further notice, but remains closed in federal waters. Daily limit is 2 with 16-inches minimum length.

CLOSED SEASONS: Federal recreational red snapper, greater amberjack, gray triggerfish (federal waters), red grouper & recreational non-sandbar large coastal sharks (state/federal waters) & commercial fishing for large coastal sharks in state/federal waters for remainder of 2015.
