Waterfowl hunters have until 4:30 p.m. Oct. 13 to submit applications for marsh and rice-field lottery hunts on the White Lake Wetlands Conservation Area south of Gueydan in Vermilion Parish.

Available rice-field hunts dates are Nov. 12, 13, 17, 19, 20, 22 and 30; Dec. 3, 4, 17, 18, 21, 28 and 30; and, Jan. 4, 7, 8, 11, 14, 15, 17, 21 and 22.

The marsh hunts are scheduled for Nov. 16, 21, 23, 26 and 27; Dec. 27, 29 and 31; and, Jan. 18 and 19.

Applications are available at Department of Wildlife and Fisheries district offices or from the LDWF website: www.wlf.louisiana.gov/hunting/lottery-hunts.

Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years old, and there’s a $5 nonrefundable fee for each application. Checks and money orders must be made payable to La. Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.

Mail completed applications to Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, Attention: White Lake Marsh/Rice Field Lottery Hunt, P.O. Box 98000, Baton Rouge, LA 70898.

If selected, the applicant must pay $225 for rice-field hunts and $350 for marsh hunts, and will be able to invite two more hunters for a rice-field hunt and one additional hunter for a marsh hunt.
