Shooting hours one-half hour before sunrise to sunset, except noon-sunset on opening day only on wildlife management areas and state-leased/public hunt fields. Two splits remaining in both zones.

TEAL, RAILS & GALLINULES: Statewide through Sept. 28, statewide. Daily limit is 6 for teal (season limited to take of greenwing, bluewing & cinnamon teal). Daily limit for king and clapper rails is 15 in the aggregate. Daily limit for sora and Virginia rails is 25 in the aggregate. Daily limit for gallinules is 15. Possession limit is three times the daily limit. Federal HIP certificate (all hunters), waterfowl stamps (16 and older) and state basic hunting license (16 and older) required.

DEER/ARCHERY SEASON: Saturday (Sept. 20), opening day, State Deer Areas 3, 8 & 10. Either-sex take allowed. Through Jan. 15, 2015.


STATE RECREATIONAL RED SNAPPER SEASON: Open in state waters. Daily limit 2 red snapper, 16 inches minimum length. Anglers required to have fee-free Louisiana Recreational Offshore Landing Permit. Website: www.rolp.wlf.la.gov.

FEDERAL RECREATIONAL Red Snapper Season: Closed in federal waters throughout the Gulf of Mexico.
