ESCANABA, Mich. — Gonzales national pro angler Greg Hackney will have to wait until Monday to hold off the competition and become Louisiana’s first-ever Bassmaster Angler of the Year after B.A.S.S. officials postponed the AOY Championship Sunday for the third consecutive day.
High winds and waves have plagued waters in Little Bay de Noc off Lake Michigan since early Friday morning. Hackney was in 17th place in the 50-angler field after Thursday’s first round, and need only to finish among the top 15 to secure the title and AOY’s $100,000 bonus.
Live weigh-in is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. Monday on the B.A.S.S. website: www.bassmaster.com.
