At this point in the season, Southern must win to keep playing.

Unfortunately for the Jaguars, they haven't won much lately.

Southern, the No. 4 seed in the 2018 Southwestern Athletic Conference tournament beginning Tuesday, will host No. 5 Jackson State at the F.G. Clark Activity Center on the heels of a three-game losing streak to end the regular season.

"Win or go home, period," said senior guard Chris Thomas. "It's the next game and a little bit more important. Either we win or it's over for us."

The Jaguars (14-17, 10-8 SWAC) lost 65-61 when Jackson State visited Baton Rouge on Jan. 8. Southern defeated the Tigers 67-62 on Feb. 5 at Jackson State.

The winner of Southern-Jackson State will advance to meet the winner of No. 1 Arkansas-Pine Bluff and No. 8 Mississippi Valley State at 2:30 p.m. Friday inside the Delmar Fieldhouse in Houston, Texas.

With a two-point overtime loss at Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Jan. 13, Southern is 3-1 overall against UAPB and MVSU this season.
