TUCSON, Arizona — The Southern women held Arizona to 44.9 percent shooting and forced 21 turnovers but still fell 56-45 on Thursday night at the McKale Center.
The Jaguars (1-6) trailed 28-23 at halftime but couldn’t rally past their Pac-12 foes. Guard Kendra Coleman led all scorers with 14 points, but she shot 5-of-18. Southern finished 0-6 on its six-game road stretch that also took it to Southeastern Louisiana, Ole Miss, Illinois, Minnesota and Texas.
Arizona (5-3) got 12 points from Keyahndra Cannon. The Wildcats shot just 11-of-23 from the free throw line as the programs met for the first time.
