Jaguars win second game in Canada

Javan Mitchell broke out of a slump with 15 points and newcomer Bryce Clark scored a team-high 15 points as the Southern men’s basketball team won its second straight exhibition, defeating Western Ontario 72-66 on Thursday.

Calvin Godfrey added 11 points before he left the game with a fourth-quarter arm injury. Tre’Lun Banks 10 for the Jaguars, who kicked off their three-game exhibition series in Canada with an overtime win over Windsor on Wednesday.

NCAA guidelines allow teams to take a foreign trip once every four years.

Southern completes its Canadian trip Friday night with a game against Fanshawe.
