The Southern men’s basketball team signed its first recruit of the spring signing period Tuesday, landing Shreveport native Josh “Frog” Robinson.

Robinson, a 6-foot-5 guard, averaged 11.1 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.3 assists last season at Trinity Valley Community College in Athens, Texas. He is the all-time winningest player in Trinity Valley history after participating in 62 victories the last two seasons.

He was named the National Junior College Athletic Association Region 14 tournament Most Valuable Player and helped lead his team to a 33-2 record last season, in which the Cardinals won the Region 14 championship to advance to the NJCAA national tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas.
