KILN, Miss. — A 16-year-old from Covington was killed and two others were injured in a two-vehicle wreck in south Mississippi.

Hancock County Coroner Jim Faulk said Joshua Hathcox, the passenger in a Ford pickup, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mississippi Highway Patrol Lt. Johnny Poulos said the accident occurred Saturday afternoon on Miss. 603 in Kiln.

He said the Ford F150 was traveling south when the driver lost control and was struck by a northbound Dodge Ram.

Poulos said the 17-year-old driver of the F150 was in critical condition at Memorial Hospital at Gulfport, and the 53-year-old driver of the Ram was in stable condition at Garden Park Medical Center.

Poulos said each person was wearing a seat belt.
