LAPLACE -- April is national Distracted Driver Awareness month. Eleven teens across America are killed each day while texting and driving.
But help is available for worried parents and others, according to a report by WWL-TV.
LaPlace business owners Wayne Vicknair and Michael Watson have developed a new cellphone app to help prevent teenagers from texting behind the wheel.
Parents install Text Guardian on their teenager's phone, and when a vehicle reaches a certain speed, most cellphone functions shut down.
