Schedule: Thursday, practice, qualifying (ESPN2, 6-7:30 p.m.); Friday, practice (Friday, 2-3 p.m., 4:30-6 p.m.); Saturday, race, 7 p.m. (ABC, 6-10:30 p.m.).

Track: Charlotte Motor Speedway (oval, 1.5 miles).

Race distance: 501 miles, 334 laps.

Last year: Brad Keselowski raced to his lone 2013 victory.

Last week: Joey Logano won at Kansas Speedway to earn a spot in the third round of the Chase for the Sprint Cup. Logano also won the Chase race at New Hampshire and has five victories this year to tie Penske teammate Keselowski for the series lead.

Fast facts: The race is the fifth in the 10-race, four-round Chase. The championship field was cut from 16 to 12 after the third race. It will be cut to eight after the sixth and to four after the ninth. Championship-eligible drivers get a spot in the next round with a victory. Points are reset after each round and the title will be decided by finishing order in the Nov. 16 finale at Homestead. ... Keselowski, Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kevin Harvick, Kyle Busch, Carl Edwards, Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick, Kasey Kahne and Matt Kenseth are fighting for the seven spots left in the third round. Johnson won the Coca-Cola 600 in May for his record seventh victory at the track.

Track: Charlotte Motor Speedway (oval, 1.5 miles).

Race distance: 300 miles, 200 laps.

Last year: Kyle Busch completed a season sweep at the track, racing to the 11th of his 12 2013 series victories.

Last week: Busch won at Kansas Speedway for his sixth victory of the year.

Fast facts: Busch has a record 69 series victories. He’s racing along with fellow Sprint Cup drivers Brad Keselowski and Kyle Larson, the winner at the track in May. ... Chase Elliott leads the standings with four races left, 38 points ahead of JR Motorsports teammate Regan Smith and 40 in front of Ty Dillon. Elliott has three victories this season.

Schedule: Friday, practice (NBC Sports Network, 5-6:30 a.m.), Saturday, practice, qualifying (NBC Sports Network, 6-7:30 a.m.); Sunday, race, 6 a.m. (NBC Sports Network, 5:30-8:30 a.m., 12:30-3:30 p.m.).

Track: Sochi Autodrom (road course, 3.637 miles).

Race distance: 192.75 miles, 53 laps.

Last year: Inaugural race.

Last week: Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton won the rain-shortened Japanese Grand Prix for his third straight victory and eighth of the season. Marussia’s Jules Bianchi is in critical but stable condition following surgery for a head injury sustained when he crashed into a crane sent to recover a wrecked vehicle. The race was red-flagged after the accident and the final nine laps were wiped out because of rain and poor visibility.

Fast facts: The race is F1’s first in Russia. The Hermann Tilke-designed circuit runs through the Olympic Park. ... Hamilton has a 10-point lead over teammate Nico Rosberg with four races left. Rosberg has four victories this year.

Tony Schumacher won in Top Fuel, Rodger Brogdon in Pro Stock, and Eddie Krawiec in Pro Stock Motorcycle.
