NEW ORLEANS — DNA evidence led New Orleans police to issue an arrest warrant in connection with the October killing of a Slidell optometrist in the French Quarter.
Police Superintendent Ronal Serpas said Sunday that officers are looking for 20-year-old Bobby Troy.
Serpas said DNA left at the scene identified Troy as their prime suspect.
Troy is accused of striking, robbing and killing Dr. Brent Hachfeld in the early hours of October 16.
The 37-year-old Hachfeld was found lying in a pool of blood at the scene. He was rushed to University Hospital, where he later died.
An autopsy revealed he was struck in the back of his head.
