LSU finished in the Top 25 for the sixth consecutive season.

With the conference championship games in the books, the Tigers finished at No. 22 in The Associated Press Top 25 and No. 23 in the coaches' poll released Sunday. LSU was ranked No. 23 in the final College Football Playoff rankings.

It is the ninth time in 10 years under coach Les Miles’ that the Tigers have finished the regular season as a ranked squad.

The Tigers finished their season 8-4 and 4-4 in Southeastern Conference play after defeating Texas A&M 23-17 on Thanksgiving. LSU’s fifth-place SEC West finish was its lowest since 2002.

Sources have revealed that LSU’s bowl opponent will be Notre Dame in the Music City Bowl in Nashville, Tennessee on December 30.
