BEDFORD, N.H. (AP) — As he prepares to announce his presidential campaign in New Hampshire, former Louisiana Gov. Buddy Roemer says America needs a leader who’s more than another pretty face.
Roemer addressed about 30 business leaders Wednesday at the New England Council’s popular “Politics and Eggs” lecture series in Bedford. He noted that he’s the only presidential candidate with experience as a congressman and governor.
The rest of the field, he says, is just guessing about the best way to lead the country.
Roemer, a Republican who is expected to formally announce his presidential campaign on Thursday, says he is moving to New Hampshire to spend the coming months meeting with and listening to voters in the first-in-the-nation primary state.
