With so many big events going on in South Louisiana this weekend, music, baseball and golf fans have to be wondering: Will the weather cooperate?
The answer: Maybe.
The National Weather Service says there's a slight chance of severe weather and an increasing chance of rain, starting at 20-30 percent this afternoon, rising to 40-50 percent tonight and peaking at 60 percent during the day Saturday. Saturday night and Sunday are expected to be nice.
That severe weather, should it develop, could include thunderstorms capable of producing damaging winds, hail and isolated tornadoes, according to the NWS.
In all, its a mixed bag for LSU's baseball series with Texas A&M, which has games at 7 p.m. today and 1 p.m. Saturday, as well as the Zurich Classic in New Orleans, with play continuing all day today through Sunday. Also hoping to avoid rain are festival goers at the Jazz Fest in News Orleans, Friday through Sunday, and Festival International de Louisiane in Lafayette, starting this evening and all day Saturday and Sunday.
