Construction is under way on new premium seating in Alex Box Stadium that includes eight suites and 48 terrace seats. The new seating will be located on the third level of the stadium adjacent to the existing suites.

The project, scheduled to be completed for the Tigers’ 2012 season opener February 17 against Air Force, is a collaborative effort of the Tiger Athletic Foundation and the LSU Athletics Department.

The new construction will increase the stadium’s suite total from 19 to 27, and total seating capacity will rise from 10,150 to 10,326.

LSU has led the nation in college baseball attendance in each of the past 16 years. The Tigers drew 390,595 fans to Alex Box Stadium during the 2011 season.
