With the announcement of the 72-team field for the NCAA women’s golf regionals, 16th-ranked LSU received an invitation for the 20th time in the 22 years that the regional competition has been held.

LSU was one of the top 18 seeds for the tournament and was seeded fifth in the Central Regional that will be held on the Karsten Creek Golf Course at Oklahoma State, May 8-10.

UCLA is the top seed with four Southeastern Conference teams in the top seven seeds. Arkansas is the No. 2 seed followed by Alabama, Arizona, LSU, Oklahoma State, Florida and North Carolina rounding out the top eight.

Tulane headed to East Regionals: Less than a week after claiming back-to-back Conference USA titles, Tulane’s 31st-ranked women’s golf team was selected for the NCAA East Regionals to be held at the Southwood Golf Club in Tallahassee, Fla., May 8-10.

The Green Wave is making its 11th NCAA Regional appearance, including its 10th in the NCAA East Region field. The Wave also played in the NCAA East Region last season and re-wrote the school record book with its best overall finish in regional action, a runner-up performance, and the team produced the best 54-hole total in school history with a 12-under 852 total.
