COLUMBIA — Two people died and several others were injured in a Caldwell Parish crash Saturday.
Troopers said a car was traveling east on La. 4 east of Columbia when the driver lost control of the vehicle in a slight curve and slid across the center lines into the path of a westbound car.
A 22-year-old passenger in the first car, Jalisa Harrison, of New Iberia, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 7-month-old infant was taken to a hospital in Columbia where he died a short time later.
The driver of the other car, 19-year-old Amber Benoi, of Jeanerette, was taken to a West Monroe hospital with serious injuries.
Benoit was issued a citation for driving left of center.
