Relief from the miserable south Louisiana summer heat is on the way.
A weak cold front will move through the area Monday night into early Tuesday morning and bring "tremendous" changes, the National Weather Service advised.
"Changes will be quite significant with the difference in terms of heat index being fairly tremendous. Heat indices (Monday) will be roughly 105 to 107 degrees and only upper 80s to lower 90s on Tuesday," the NWS said in its Monday morning forecast.
High temperatures during the week will hover around 90 degrees and lows will be in the mid 60s to low 70s. And after Monday, there's little to no rain in the forecast for several days thanks to the infusion of drier air.
