PELLSTON, Mich. — A single-engine plane crashed in Emmet County in northern Michigan killing the pilot, who was a resident of Terrytown.

The crash occurred Tuesday night in a wooded area near Pellston Regional Airport, 20 miles south of the Mackinac Bridge. The Sheriff’s Office said the Cessna 208B was being used by cargo carrier Martinaire Aviation, based near Dallas.

The pilot was identified as Jeffrey Salles, 26.
