SIOUX CITY, Iowa (AP) — GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney says President Barack Obama’s speech to the Democratic National Convention gives no confidence that he can create jobs or get the economy moving.

Romney’s commented after the latest unemployment report showed employers created only 96,000 jobs last month. The unemployment rate fell to 8.1 percent from 8.3 percent in July, largely because more people stopped looking for work.

Romney told Fox News that Obama has not kept his pledge to create new jobs. He says the president made new promises in the speech that he also won’t be able to fulfill.

Asked about Bill Clinton’s comment that no one could have turned the economy around in four years, Romney says he could have done “a heck of a better job than this president has.”
