New Orleans Police are investigating two shootings, including one that injured a 3-year-old boy.
Both shootings occurred during daytime hours on Thursday, although police did not specify when exactly either incident took place.
NOPD Spokesman Aaron Looney said a three-year-old boy arrived at an area hospital suffering from a gunshot wound to his hand. Looney said the shooting incident happened near the intersection of Deslonde Street and St. Claude Avenue.
In a separate incident, an adult male arrived at an area hospital for treatment after getting shot to the arm near the intersection of St. Claude Avenue and Lizardi Street.
Police said the investigation is ongoing. It is not yet clear if there is any connection between the shootings.
