The 91st bal masque of the Children’s Carnival Club took place Sunday the Grand Ballroom of the J.W. Marriott Hotel.

Reigning over the festivities as king and queen Once Upon A Time were Master Michael Patrick Karl, son of Dr. and Mrs. Robert Karl; and Miss Colleen Elisabeth Daly, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Daly.

Pages to their majesties were Masters Ira Benjamin Acosta, son of Dr. and Mrs. Scott Acosta; James Crochet Bell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Bell Sr.; and Walsh Louis Bordes, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lance Bordes.

Captain of this youthful krewe was Master Collin Laird Shannon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Laird Shannon. He was assisted by girl captains Misses Lauren Ava Bruser, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Bruser; and Mary Maxine Guy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Guy.

Setting the stage for their majesties were royal attendants Misses Marais Elizabeth Bordes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lance Bordes; Cecile Valentine and Camille Rosalie Borne Curran, daughters of Drs. William and Tracy Curran; Caroline Grace Daly, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Scott Daly; Jaden Mikosi Erickson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Erickson; Skila Pressly Hoffield, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Hoffield; Emma Vallee Passler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Passler; Madison Katheryn Rodriguez, daughter of Mr. Jean Rodriguez and Mrs. Michelle Mitchell; Laine Campbell Schreiber, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jeremy Schreiber; Colette Elizabeth and Chloé Elise Shannon, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Laird Shannon; and Teresa Marie Vinas, daughter of Mrs. Maria Vinas.

The tableau of “Frozen” was performed by Misses Marguerite Ellen Thibeaux (Elsa), daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Thibeaux; Macie Marie Rodriguez (Anna), daughter of Mr. Rodriguez and Mrs. Mitchel; Kristina Schwing Bickham (Olaf), daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Bickham; Masters Richard Dunkin Bell (Prince Hans), son of Mr. and Mrs. Bell Sr.; Miles Salmen Michell (Kristoff), son of Mr. Michell and Ms. Salmen; and Liam John Borne Curran (Guard at Arms), son of Drs. Royal entertainment was provided by The New Orleans Youth Ballet under ballet master Richard Rholdon, of the Maria and Joseph Giacobbe Academy of Dance. A presentation of the proclamation from the city of New Orleans was presented to their majesties.

The monarchs also gave the traditional presentation of a gift to St. Michael’s Special School.

General dancing, merriment and royal greetings continued to the tunes of The Jimmy Maxwell Orchestra.

Court committee was served by Messrs. Alan Brackett (chairman), Marvin Russell and Eugene Gambel. Ball committee members were Messrs. W. Kenneth Mann Jr. (chairman), William Beatty Sr. and Charles Childress Jr. The floor committee consisted of Messrs. Curtis Rome (chairman), David DeGenova and Mark Bickham.
