What do you get when you mix 3,000 pounds of sugar, 2,000 pounds of butter and 1,000 full sheet pans of gingerbread?

An extravagant, life-size gingerbread streetcar – currently on display at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans.

The “Christmas New Orleans Style” gingerbread house measures 16 feet long, 5 feet wide and 8 feet tall, according to a news release from the Hyatt Regency. Created by executive chef Eric Damidot, the gingerbread house also used 3,000 eggs, 3,000 pounds of flour, 70 liters of molasses, 30 pounds of cinnamon powder, 10 pounds of ground ginger and 10 pounds of ground cloves.

The gingerbread streetcar, surrounded by faux snow, white fences and holiday wreaths, is located on the third floor of the Hyatt Regency.
