On Saturday evening, the youthful Krewe of Apollo gathered in the New Orleans Theater at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center for its 89th ball.

The theme of the ball was “All You Need is Love,” and all of the songs played were Beatles songs.

The queen was Katherine Grace Walshe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Quirk Walshe Jr.

Maids to her majesty were Misses Pixie Marie Anderson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Marvin Anderson III; Helen Denechaud Charbonnet, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Taylor Charbonnet; Nanine Brent Cowan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert William Cowan; Malise Dornier Favrot, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Freret Favrot; Ella Charbonnet Flower, daughter and stepdaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Andrew Flower and daughter of Dr. Rhonda Robards Flower; Ella Maxwell Freeman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard West Freeman III; Anna Catherine Guillot, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Michael Guillot; and Catherine Everett Heebe, daughter of Mr. Odom Bernhardt Heebe Jr. and the late Mrs. Heebe.

A highlight of the evening included the presentation of the 2017 queen, Miss Adelaide Elizabeth Perrier, daughter and stepdaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Dugue Perrier and daughter of Ms. Elizabeth Caraway Perrier.

Another highlight was the presentation of the 50-year queen, Mrs. Philip Martin Woollam, who, as Tina Louise Freeman, reigned as queen of Apollo in 1968.

Several of this year’s debutantes, all of whom were members of former Apollo courts, were also presented to their majesties by the Matron of Honor, Mrs. Joseph Sanders Mann Jr. The debutantes presented were Misses Elise Lockett Clay (the 2015 queen), daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George William Clay; Caroline Bailey Acomb, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dwight LeBlanc Acomb; Bailey Elizabeth Batt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John August Batt Jr.; Virginia DeRussy Dodenhoff, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Carrere Dodenhoff; and Eugenie Cecile Whealdon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Burton Whealdon.

After the ball, a queen's supper was held, where the band was Ocean Street.
