“Rare Sounds: A Benefit for The Music Box” will blend music, munchies and art for an evening of fundraising Wednesday from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Roving Village in New Orleans City Park.

Tickets for the benefit, presented by the Helis Foundation, are $100 and include musical performances by the Preservation Hall collective and the Lost Bayou Ramblers.

The $20,000 goal set by New Orleans Airlift will be used toward a permanent site for the interactive sonic playground of musical architecture.

Airlift is an artist-driven experimental public art initiative.

Food will be provided by Geautreau’s, Meauxbar, Sucre, St. James Cheese Company and Sazerac.

A live auction will also raise funds for the project.

Tickets are available online at raresounds.eventbrite.com.
