2. WINE DOWN: Pearl Wine Co. offers free wine tastings on Fridays from 5-7 p.m., accompanied by live music. Today: the Sarah Gromko Trio. Hungry? The Foodie Call food truck will be parked outside the store, 3700 Orleans Ave., in the American Can Co. www.pearlwineco.com/

3. TO FIDO!: New Orleans On Tap pours into the City Park Festival Grounds on Saturday, from 1-8 p.m. Organized by the local Bulldog taverns and the Louisiana SCPA, the annual event has become a major fundraiser for the animal welfare group and a major draw for beer lovers, offering more than 200 brews in a family-friendly festival atmosphere. Appropriately enough, dogs are welcome. Details at neworleansontap.org
