Crescent City Classic 10K: The city’s signature spring race kicks off at 8 a.m. from the Superdome and heads to City Park via the French Quarter and Esplanade Avenue. Expect costumed runners, bands and cheering crowds all the way.
Freret Street Festival: This block party on steroids celebrates the resurgence of the dining, art and business corridor. 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Freret Street, between Napoleon Avenue and Robert Street.
Easter parades: Don’t miss the pastel colors and fancy hats. At 10:30 a.m., the Historic French Quarter Easter Parade leaves Antoine’s, 734 St. Louis St. At 1 p.m., Chris Owens’ French Quarter Easter Parade leaves the Astor Crowne Plaza at Canal and Bourbon streets. At 4:30 p.m., the Gay Easter Parade sets out from Armstrong Park.
