A New Orleans restaurant has topped Esquire’s list of Best New Restaurants in America 2015 – but not for the type of Louisiana cuisine you might expect.
Esquire has named Shaya, an Israeli restaurant on Magazine Street, as the best new restaurant of the year.
The magazine’s pick represents what it refers to as a change in the restaurant world. “There is something of a New Food Order emerging—the rules, like the complexion of the country itself, are changing,” the article reads.
Shaya is located at 4213 Magazine Street. It serves lunch and dinner daily. Meals are built around pita bread, and hummus is served five ways.
