History was made at New Orleans City Park this past Monday.
Broc Corcoran caught a 9.3-pound Bass at the park, breaking the previous record size of just more than 9 pounds set in August 2013, according to the park.
Corcoran, a 29-year-old New Orleans resident, was using a soft plastic minnow on a bait caster.
"Where did he make the catch in City Park? Well, that’s a secret," park officials said in their announcement.
The park has more than 11 miles of lagoons filed with Bass, catfish, perch and other fish. To fish there you need a valid freshwater fishing license from the Louisiana Dept. of Wildlife and Fisheries. Fishermen are asked to catch and release.
