Douglas Hofmann and the masters: Martin Lawrence Gallery held a special evening celebrating the artist and artwork of Douglas Hofmann and the masters of the 20th century. Works on view included two original Chagalls and 14 signed lithographs; an original Dali drawing from 1949 and 13 signed etchings; a large Miro etching/aquatint; 14 signed Picassos including several exquisite linocuts, and much more.

New Orleans Book Fest, presented by Cheryl Landrieu: Cheryl Landrieu presented the fifth annual New Orleans Book Festival, which included a night of children’s music under the stars hosted by the city’s first lady and Louise and Len Riggio. The free event featured literature-inspired music by the Greater New Orleans Youth Orchestras at the Latter Branch Library on St. Charles Avenue.

Rhonda Shear’s sassy, sexy birthday bash: Native New Orleanian, Miss Louisiana beauty queen, actress, multi-millionaire, designer of the No. 1 selling Ahh Bra and “boomerpreneur” Rhonda Shear celebrated her sassy, sexy, sizzling diamond jubilee birthday party with family and friends at the Omni Royal Orleans Hotel. The night included dinner, dancing, music by Rockin’ Dopsie and a parade down Bourbon Street. Rhonda and husband Van were just cast on a new inspirational reality show on the E! Network, and cameras were rolling during the birthday bash.
