Three holiday light shows plugging in on Friday night _lowres

Kenner’s mellow Christmas Village in Historic Rivertown, shown, runs Dec. 5-17; open 5:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 405 Williams Blvd. Caroling, lights, food, laser shows in the planetarium and visits with Santa. Free.


The LED displays go on Friday at 6:30 p.m. in Lafreniere Park in Metairie, lighting the way to a month of walking and driving tours. Nightly 5:30 p.m.-9:45 p.m. Sunday-Thursday; til 11:45 p.m. Friday-Saturday. Musical groups, story times, character visits, Ferris wheel and Lombardi trophy; $3 per vehicle.


Christmas Under the Stars at Slidell’s Griffith Park, Erlanger and Second streets, runs 6 p.m.-9 p.m. Dec. 5-6 and Dec. 12-13, with a Parade of Trees, appearances by Santa and live entertainment. Free.
