It wasn't exactly a "Dome-coming," but U2 hasn't forgotten how to fire up a New Orleans crowd.

Among many signature moments in their performance, Bono took time to offer his well wishes to Rep. Steve Scalise (R-Jefferson), still recovering after a shooting in Washington last June.

“[He] almost lost his life. We wish him continued strength and we hold him in our prayers,” Bono said. 

The group also offered a surprise “The Saints Are Coming,” the old Scottish punk song with which U2 and Green Day fired up the “Dome-coming” Superdome reopening following Hurricane Katrina in 2006. Black and gold fleur de lis flashed on the video wall. “We should figure out how to do that” song, Bono joked. “That would be good.”
