The youthful Krewe of Apollo took a break from the winter cold Saturday evening and presented its 86th ball in the form of a “Beach Party” that Frankie Avalon, Annette Funicello and “Gidget” would have been proud to attend.

After all, that’s “Where the Boys Are,” or were, Jan. 10 at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.

Reigning as queen was Miss Elise Lockett Clay, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George William Clay.
