On Saturday evening, at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, the youthful Krewe of Apollo presented its 87th ball as “Scenes from an Italian Restaurant.” The ball was set in an Italian eatery and centered around various Billy Joel songs.

Reigning as queen was Miss Julia Margaret Plauche, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerard Anthony Plauche.

Maids in her court were Misses McAlister Wynn Brewer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Craig Wren Brewer; Ellen Elizabeth Carriere, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Pierre Carriere IV; Margot Louise Childs, daughter of Mr. Scott Childs and Ms. Suzanne Burns Childs; Elizabeth McKenzie Cummins, daughter of Mr. Harold Hackett Cummins Jr. and stepdaughter and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Dugue Perrier; Grace Allen Gambel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Christian Gambel; Emily June Hardie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Scott Davis Hardie; Larkin McConnell Holtzman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eric Louis Holtzman; and Katherine Randolph Jacobs, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Robert Henri Jacobs.

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the 2015 queen, Miss Elise Lockett Clay, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George William Clay.

Also introduced were a number of this year’s debutantes, all members of former Apollo courts. They were presented by Mrs. Howard Carter Marshall, who as Miss Elizabeth Ansley Seaver, reigned as queen of Apollo in 1998.

Debutantes were Misses Agnes Robeson Bell (the 2013 queen), daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael John Bell; Sedley Hayward Clark, daughter and stepdaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Christopher Clark and stepdaughter and daughter and of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bradley Oxford; Ruth Marie Nairne Landry, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Dodt Landry; Sarah Marie Favrot McLellan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Richmond McLellan; and Meredith Anita Tufton, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Peter Michael Tufton.

The chairman of the ball committee was Mr. Peter Hillyer Dupuy. He was assisted by Messrs. Lawrence Noel Johnson Jr. (reception committee), Benjamin Arnold Dupuy (court committee), and Charles Neils Monsted IV (floor committee).

Following the ball, a supper for the queen and her court was held in the Convention Center.
