The Mystick Krewe of Perseus marked several monarchal milestones at the annual Carnival ball held earlier in the season.

Revealed at the “Precious Gems” gala were the identities of the royals at the Slidell Municipal Auditorium.

King Perseus and Queen Andromeda XLVI for 2016 are Mark and Connie Hulbert. The couple marked not only a 40th wedding anniversary but also their 60th birthdays.

In elegant regalia for the event, the couple represented the ruby.

In celebrating the familiar ties of the evening, the pages to their majesties included Christopher and Lauren Hulbert of Virginia, the monarch’s son and daughter-in-law; Ryan and Stacy Hulbert Sinitiere of Baton Rouge, their son-in-law and daughter; and Madeleine Hulbert, their granddaughter.

Members of the organization for a quarter of century, the couple have both worked in the local aerospace field since moving to the area from the nation’s capital.

The krewe will parade today through the streets of Slidell, carrying out the “Gems” theme.
