“A Tribute to Algiers: Places Remembered” was the theme of the bal masque presented by the Jugs Social Club’s Krewe of NOMTOC, “New Orleans’ Most Talked-Of Club,” Saturday evening in La Nouvelle Orleans Ballroom of the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.

Reigning as Queen NOMTOC XLV was Miss Kourtney Ann Williams, daughter of Mr. Herbert and Mrs. Portia Williams, who greeted her subjects in a gown of deep purple velvet trimmed with French lace fabrics. The entire gown was adorned with Austrian crystal rhinestones, sprinkled with sequins and gold and silver appliques. Her collar was embellished with gleaming gold and silver sequins with purple and white ostrich feathers. Her mantel was adorned with gold trim and lamé fabric, trimmed with white fur with black spots. A gold Austrian crystal crown completed her royal attire.

His majesty the king, Mr. Sherman L. Weary Sr., whose attire complemented that of the queen, wore a tunic-style costume of imported deep purple velvet, lined with purple satin and embellished with gold sequins and rhinestones. His sleeves were finished with white fur with black spots. His majesty’s elaborate collar featured a three-dimensional gold crown with two lions standing on each shoulder, trimmed with purple and white ostrich feathers. His gold Austrian crystal jewel crown completed his royal attire.

Making their formal bows to society as members of the court were Misses Dacia Michael Coleman, daughter of Ms. Nicole Coleman; Angel Carolina Gabriel, daughter of Mr. Derek and Dr. Autumn Gabriel; Olivia Lynette Mixon, daughter of Mr. Johnny and Mrs. Denise Mixon; Imari E. Red-Bingley, daughter of Mr. Dal Ray Bingley and Ms. Charita Red; Jenna Blaine Rochon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Darren Lombard; Iralisha Deon Williams, daughter of Mr. Ivan and Mrs. Shelly Lambert Williams; and Tasia Lynn Wilson, daughter of Mr. Byron and Mrs. Tina Wilson.

Theme-bearers were Misses Alaina Nicole Rose, daughter of Mr. Terrol and Mrs. Georgetta Rose; and Seionna Lousendy Weary, daughter of Mr. Deven Burris and Ms. Shinetal Weary.

Pages to the queen were Misses Aaliyah Christian Colar, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Colar; Antanay Crystal Lee, daughter of Mr. Anthony Charles Lee and Ms. Aleisha Gaston; Paris London Richard, daughter of Mr. Demetrius and Mrs. Trachelle Richard; and Tailyn LeJeanne Rogers, daughter of Mr. Ronnie Rogers and Ms. Takia Wilson.
