A new musical takes audiences on a memorable trip through the Michael Jackson songbook when “The Glove” premieres Friday at 8 p.m. at the Anthony Bean Community Theater.
Written by Bean, the story revolves around Michael Duplesis, a devoted fan and namesake of Jackson, who is having a hard time dealing with the star’s death. Duplesis believes the glove to be the source of Jackson’s power to stand on his toes, kick his legs up and moonwalk across the stage.
More than 75 ABCT/New Orleans Recreation Development Commission Summer Camp kids will perform in tribute to The King of Pop.
The show is at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 3 p.m. Sundays, through Aug. 2; Anthony Bean Community Theater, 1333 S. Carrollton Ave., New Orleans. Tickets are $15. (504) 862-7529. www.anthonybeantheater.com.
