“Africa Umoja: 20 Years of Freedom and Democracy,” the theatrical experience about the history of South African music and dance, comes to the stage of the Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts Dec. 4-14.

The 32-member cast brings the production to New Orleans on the anniversary of legendary leader Nelson Mandela’s death.

Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, 8 p.m. Saturdays and 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays; the Dec. 7 production is at 4 p.m.
