With Hurricane Nate forecast to hit the Louisiana coast, some events planned for a busy New Orleans weekend have changed.

Deutsches Haus announced that its Oktoberfest on Bayou St. John will proceed as planned today (Oct. 6), but the event will is canceled for Saturday (Oct. 7).

Today's edition begins at 4 p.m. There will be an official first keg tapping at 6 p.m.

The German cultural group hosts the largest local Oktoberfest and this year it has a new location across from City Park, at 1700 Moss St. The event is scheduled to continue each Friday and Saturday through Oct. 21.
