Advocate staff photo by Ian McNulty - A dining bar faces the open kitchen at Emeril's Restaurant in the Warehouse District, giving guests a view of the action.

A promotion has led to shuffling at Emeril's New Orleans, with a new kitchen leader taking over after chef de cuisine David Slater was moved to director of culinary development. 

Slater has been the lead chef at the restaurant for the past nine years, according to a news release announcing the staffing changes. 

Taking over at the Warehouse District location will be chef Douglas Braselman, a New Orleans native who has been with Emeril's locations since 2011.
