The New Orleans Food & Beverage Museum, through the Smithsonian Institution, is offering free admission to the museum Saturday.

Sessions include:

  • "How to Cook Fish" with chef Tenney Flynn, of GW Fins, noon to 1 p.m.
  • "Sharpen Up!" with chef Arthur Kurtzman demonstrating how to keep knives razor sharp, 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Cirque de Cuisine: A Kitchen Tour! is planned noon to 4 p.m.  Oct. 9 in the French Quarter.

Visitors can stroll through 10 French Quarter homes to benefit SoFAB, 1504 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd. Refreshments are included. 

Pre-event price is $45; day of tickets, $55; and
