The Preservation Hall Jazz Band's signature tuba is missing.

The tuba -- technically it's a sousaphone -- with the band's name spelled out in black and white on the bell disappeared following a Saturday night performance at the New Orleans Airlift organization's Music Box Village in the upper 9th Ward.

Pres Hall creative director and tuba player Ben Jaffe issued an appeal on Facebook for the instrument's return. In the post, he said he purchased the sousaphone to replace the one he lost in Hurricane Katrina.

It has since traveled all over the world with him.

A reward is being offered for the sousaphone's return. Anyone with information is asked to call 504.418.0367.
